The Glass House Steel Frame Kitset 2.7m x 4.5m A is a frame-only steel kitset combining a glasshouse and a shed under one 12.15m² roof — wall frames, roof frames and site hardware are supplied, with cladding, roofing, glazing and doors available separately. The footprint is a single rectangular building split into two zones (not an L-shape): a 600mm-stud shed section and a wider-spaced 900mm-stud glasshouse section, sharing a 3° pitched roof. Site Suitability & Design Limits

This glasshouse/shed combo kitset is supplied frame-only, and its design is explicitly outside the scope of NASH SP2:2019 — its structure has not been produced or verified under that standard, unlike SFML’s standard NASH-compliant kitset range. No bracing design and no architectural design or detailing is included, and no engineer’s PS1 is supplied unless separately arranged. The 3° roof pitch is below what typical corrugated roofing can handle, so it requires a trapezoid corrugated profile — permitted down to 3° under NZBC E2 clause 8.4.5 — rather than standard corrugate, so factor this into your roofing and cladding selection.

Foundation design is not included in this price — it’s designed to suit a slab or timber joist foundation, and SFML can quote foundation design separately on request or it can be arranged through your own engineer or builder. Confirm the stud, nog and rafter spacings above are suitable for your own site and loading requirements before ordering, and note SFML supplies frame-to-frame connections only unless alternative fixing arrangements are agreed in advance.

Delivery & Installation

Frames are manufactured at our factory in Waimate and pre-assembled into panels ready to stand. They can be delivered free to your nearest Booths Logistics freight depot as a flat bundle pack for you to assemble on site, or supplied pre-assembled at an additional freight cost, with frame-to-frame fixings provided. Freight costs are determined by your delivery location.
