Site Suitability & Design Notes

This kitset is designed within the scope of NASH Standard Part Two: May 2019 for a Very High wind zone and snow loads of <1.5kPa (as per the BRANZ map and NASH SP2:2019); you can supply your own alternative calculations if your site requires them. Confirm your site’s wind, snow and ground conditions with our team before ordering. Bracing design is excluded from the base kit; a site-specific design for IBS Rigidrap-XT / GIB sheet bracing to the walls and strap bracing to the roof can be supplied on request (site information required), with the bracing products supplied by others.

At 8° the roof pitch is at the minimum for typical corrugated roofing, so confirm your profile and fixings with your roofing supplier; NZBC E2 allows trough/tray or trapezoid profiles down to 3°. This kitset supplies the steel structure of a sleepout only: whether your project needs building consent, and what insulation, linings and weathertightness a habitable room must meet, depends on your site and council, so check with your local council before you build. All opening sizes on the plans are frame opening sizes, SFML supplies frame-to-frame connections only unless other arrangements are made, and there is no allowance for architectural design or detailing.

Engineering: An engineer’s PS1 is not included. It is available at additional cost on request, or you can use your own engineer.
