Quoting and Sales Process

In the ever-evolving world of construction, efficiency and precision are paramount. Steel framing has emerged as a game-changer, offering durability, sustainability, and speed in building projects.

When thinking about framing, the initial phases include budgeting and factoring in estimated rates for your construction progress. At Steel Frame Manufacturing Ltd, we aim to make this process straightforward and easy. In just 5 simple steps, your steel framing reaches your door and you can begin construction…

Initial contact with Chris and detailed consultation: Once you’ve made a general enquiry through our email address, 0800 number, or website, you’ll be put in touch with our general manager and sales representative Chris. Chris has been in the steel framing business for over a decade, and has the expertise and skill set to ensure your design is both functional, and meets your construction requirements. Our quoting or ‘estimate’ form will question you on framing elements such as the building type, consent, wind zones and snow loads, roof pitch and more.. as we aim to gather as much information about your proposal to ensure an accurate estimate. If these details are unknown, Chris and our team will work with you to determine the respective elements in alignment with your framing needs.

Estimate provided, job set up, and deposit invoiced: Steel framing projects offer flexibility in design and customization. Your estimate will take into account the exact measurements and finishes required for your project. A comprehensive understanding of your proposal or architectural plans is essential to provide an accurate estimate, and the team at SFML are well equipped to adapt any of our pre-designed range or proposed concept to suit your steel framing requirements. Furthermore, the transportation of your frames to your elected site will also be factored in. At this point of the process we ask for a deposit, which engages our detailers to take the next step.

Construction details and design: SFML’s detailers play a crucial role in the construction process by offering a comprehensive range of services. They provide essential elements such as architectural plans, construction details, and panel drawings to ensure a well-defined project vision. Additionally, if building consent is necessary, SFML will provide a Certificate of Design Work (CODW), ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality construction outcomes.

Plans are issued for manufacture and assembly. Final payment is invoiced upon completion: At SFML, our manufacturing processes encompass the pivotal components of precision in frame construction, efficient installation, and timely delivery. Situated in Waimate, South Canterbury, our dedicated production team is dedicated to achieving exacting standards, ensuring your framing is well crafted and promptly transported to your site. From modest backyard sheds to expansive residential housing structures, SFML is adept at tailoring designs to align seamlessly with your specific needs.

Delivery nationwide via our high-load trailers or Mainfreight drivers, depending on your elected location: Considerations like distance, delivery schedules, and handling requirements play a role in ensuring accurate delivery estimates to your elected site, and at SFML both our talented drivers and partnership with mainfreight make this process simple. Additionally, we offer free delivery of your frames between Dunedin and Christchurch, helping our local clients get their project moving faster.
